Physical wellness is living a life that preserves and cares for the one body you get in this life. COVID has a lot of us sitting and moving a lot less than we used to. Your body may also turn feelings of stress into aches and pains. Listening to how your body talks to you can help you to take better care of yourself physically.
Physical Wellness encompasses…
Physical wellness encompasses so much: eating, sleeping, exercising, sex, getting our physical checkups, going to the dentist, and so much more. And because each aspect of physical wellness is equally important, it’s not enough to focus attention on only one or two things our bodies require. We need sleep to function well, food to live and give us energy, and movement to work the muscles in our body.
When you don’t take care of your physical wellness…
You feel every bit of it. You might have a hard time focusing, dozing off in meetings, get short with people when you’re hungry, you may have to deal with atrophy for lack of muscle use, become forgetful, that list can go on and on. You skip appointments and may also skip fixing a nutritious meal, which affects your ability to manage other aspects of your life well. See the inter-connectedness?
