The Aya
“A person who wears this symbol suggests that they have endured many adversities and outlasted much difficulty.”
-Willis, The Andinkra Dictionary
Aya, pronounced “eye–ah”, means fern; a hardy plant able to grow and flourish in difficult places. This symbol was first used by the African Asante people and is a symbol of endurance, resourcefulness, independence, hardiness, perseverance, and defiance against difficulties.
At some point in our lives, we all endure difficulties and must be resourceful to get through tough times. The Aya serves as a reminder of that resilience.
At PsycleOn, we help to amplify each individual’s strengths, building on the foundation of endurance, perseverance and resourcefulness that lives in each of us, building on it according to each individual’s strengths. We help our clients not only apply wellness strategies intentionally, in every facet of their lives, but also help them to understand that because they have overcome tough times before, they are capable of overcoming obstacles again now and in the future, stronger and more confidently each time difficulties arise.
Let the Aya remind you that you're already strong, and that you don’t have to be strong alone. You deserve to be supported and strengthened and to grow and flourish.
